The Office of the City Clerk and the Portsmouth Public Library invite you to register to vote or update your voter registration, at one of two voter registration sessions at the Portsmouth Public Library. Attend either of the two sessions on Wednesday, October 18 from 11 AM until 12:30 PM or Tuesday, October 24 from 4 until 5:30 PM. (We apologize that the original October 4 session had to be rescheduled until October 18.)

 

Voter Registration Requirements:

  1. You must be 18 years of age or will be 18 prior to election day.
  2. You must bring a photo identification.
  3. You must bring one of the following: A Birth Certificate, a U.S. Passport, or a U.S. Military Identification
  4. You must bring proof of residency (Portsmouth Physical Address). 

 
The last day to register to vote prior to the municipal election is Saturday, October 28 from 12-2 PM in Room 211 of the Board of Registrars. The last day for registered voters to change their party affiliation prior to the Presidential Primary Election is October 6, 2023. The Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Polling Hours are 8 AM to 7 PM.

Registration is not required. This is a drop-in event.
