Knock,

knock, knock! Who's there, i' the name of

Beelzebub? Here's a reader of Shakespearean

texts, an expert in the field: come in

time; have notes enow about you; here

you'll sweat for't.

Knock,

knock! Who's there, in the other devil's

name? Faith, tis a common soul, who

Loves to laugh at the dear Bard’s japes!

O, come in, and join our discussion,

for Shakespeare or Classics!

It is with great pleasure that the Shakespeare discussion group presents its second annual partnership with Classics book discussion group, as we endeavor to watch or read a play so cursed, some dare not speak it’s name! Be not afeard if you’ve not joined either group in the past, as we invite fellows of all ages and areas of expertise to attend our meetings for Macbeth!
On Tuesday, October 31 at 4 PM we will discuss our viewing experience of Macbeth. On Tuesday, November 7 at 7 PM we will discuss our reading experience of Macbeth. Attend one, or both! Read or watch! We come not to judge, only to share our love of the Bard.

Print copies of this play and several productions on DVD will be available for checkout with a library card. Library cardholders also have streaming access to the BBC production on Kanopy – visit cityofportsmouth.com/library/kanopy to connect. Or, watch any of these freely available productions:

Shakespeare Discussion Group now meets in the library's Hilton Garden Inn Room. Registration is optional - register to receive reminders.
