A Garden for Wildlife: Better Landscaping for your Yard with Vicki J. Brown

Our yards are shared by many wildlife species, and we can do a lot to benefit wildlife based on the landscaping practices we choose. As a NH homeowner, you play an important role as manager of our state’s wildlife and habitats. No matter how big or small, how rural or urban, you can provide critical habitat for birds, bees and other wildlife.

 Learn how to:

  • create habitat for birds and other animals on your property
  • make small landscaping changes that benefit wildlife
  • decrease time spent on yard chores (skip fall clean-up!)

This program is sponsored by Speaking for Wildlife, a volunteer project of UNH Cooperative Extension and NH Fish and Game.

Registration is required. Register to receive a Zoom link!

Our speaker, Vicki J. Brown, is a NH Natural Resources Steward, Pollinator Pathways NH Co-founder, and Speaking for Wildlife volunteer. She is slowly turning her lawn into pollinator and wildlife habitat and enjoys observing nature while walking, hiking, paddling and cycling. Some of her articles include:

·        3/2/20 - Who are the Pollinators? New Hampshire's Super Seven

·        1/13/20 - How to Attract Hummingbirds to Your Yard: A Homeowner's Experience

·        10/23/19 - How to Help Bees and Butterflies Survive the Winter
