The Office of the City Clerk and the Portsmouth Public Library invite you to register to vote or update your voter registration, at one of two voter registration sessions at the Portsmouth Public Library. Drop in to the library lobby for either of the two sessions on Thursday, September 18 or Wednesday, October 15 from 5:30 to 7 PM.

Voter Registration Requirements:

  1. You must be 18 years of age or will be 18 prior to election day.

  2. You must show State-Issued photo identification.

  3. You must provide one of the following documents to confirm citizenship: A Birth Certificate, or a U.S. Passport.

  4. If not born in the U.S.., must show Naturalization documentation

  5. You must bring proof of residency (Portsmouth Physical Address).

The Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Polling hours will be announced at the September 8, 2025, City Council meeting. The last day to register to vote prior to the Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Municipal Election will be forthcoming.

Registration is not required. This is a drop-in event.
