A perfect, chaotic send-off to the summer!
We will have frozen individual t-shirts inside solid chunks of ice. Your job is to thaw your shirt enough to put it on your body - head through the collar, arms through the sleeves - without any tools. We will provide a hot parking lot and a few buckets of water. Thaw yours faster than anyone else, and you win the big prize. Do it slightly slower, and you win a slightly smaller prize ... and so on and so forth. There will be a lot of shouting, a lot of ricocheting ice chunks (we recommend closed-toed shoes), and a lot of fun. There is a significant chance you will wind up soaked and looking like you walked through an automatic carwash by the end, so dress accordingly! We'll be meeting in the small lot by the outdoor book drops, along Parrott Ave.
Make sure you register early so we have enough shirts. Registration closes the Monday before the contest to give us time to properly freeze everything!
(Rain date is Friday, 8/4 - call to check if weather seems iffy)
