Exhibit: Magnify Voices
October 3 – November 2
Levenson Community Room & Youth Services Teen area

Brought to PPL by the NH chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), this exhibit features creative pieces by Granite State students grades 5 through 12, illustrating their experiences with mental health in New Hampshire. As part of a broader national effort, Magnify Voices recognizes and celebrates the creativity of youth, demonstrates the vital importance of positive mental health for a child’s healthy development, and highlights the inadequacies in the system that serves youth and family in NH.

This exhibit is the culmination of the annual Magnify Voices Expressive Art Contest, launched in 2019 by the NH CBHC Communications Committee in honor of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Month. The contest and exhibit aim to raise awareness, erase stigma, and effectuate change!

And don't miss:

Ending the Silence
Wednesday October 29
6 PM
Levenson Community Room

In this engaging presentation for middle and high school aged youth and their caregivers, learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one is showing symptoms of a mental health condition!

In concert with the Magnify Voices Exhibit on display at the library in October, this program is presented by NH staff from the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI). Ending the Silence is a free, evidence-based, 50-minute session and will include a brief presentation, short videos, and personal testimony. Discussion to follow. These presentations include at least two leaders: one who shares an informative presentation and a young adult with a mental health condition who shares their journey of recovery. Audience members can ask questions and gain understanding of an often-misunderstood topic. Through dialogue, we can help grow the movement to end stigma.

Adults, Middle School and High School students are welcome. Free! Registration is suggested, but walk-ins will be welcome.
