Take your knitting to a colorful new level with a free intermediate knitting class! Local knitter, Veronique Ludington is back at the Portsmouth Public Library to teach you intarsia, or "picture knitting."
Intarsia is a colorwork technique used to create basic geometric shapes or complicated pictures that opens up a whole world of possibilities in your knitting. This technique uses blocks of color to make bold patterns, starting with basic color blocks and moving toward more intricate designs.
If you have basic knitting skills and are comfortable knitting and purling, this two-hour class is for you! Students are asked to bring size 7 or 8 needles and two colors of contrasting, worsted-weight yarn. The library has a small supply of donated materials, so contact us prior to the start of class if you don't have the required supplies.
Registration is required. Space is limited.
