Herb Gardening in Containers

Purchasing fresh herbs at the grocery store can be expensive and time-consuming. In this free lecture, you will learn how easy and rewarding it is to grow your own herbs at home! Learn from local Master Gardener, Doris Buco the basics of herb gardening in containers. Many topics will be addressed, including the growing habits of herbs available in our area, choosing herbs that grow best in the sun or part shade, the environmental conditions necessary to grow herbs, the varieties of containers, and how to choose the right one for your needs. You will learn how to assemble an herb container garden and the proper care and maintenance of herb containers. She will conclude the presentation by discussing proper techniques for harvesting, drying, and preserving herbs as well.
