Shakespeare Discussion Group
Hamlet
Tuesday October 25
4 – 5 PM
Portsmouth Public Library
Macleod Board Room
To read, or not to read, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
Through the text of Shakespeare’s play,
Or to take up the remote and watch the greats perform…
But why take opposing sides? To read—to watch,
Let us question no more! Why not both?
It is with great pleasure that the Shakespeare discussion group presents it’s premiere partnership with Classics book discussion group, as we endeavor to watch or read Shakespeare’s arguably greatest play of all: Hamlet!
Be not afeard if you’ve not joined either group in the past, as we invite fellows of all ages and areas of expertise to attend!
On Tuesday, October 25 at 4PM we will discuss our viewing experience of Hamlet.
On Tuesday, November 1 at 7 PM (with the Classics Book Club!) we will discuss our reading experience of Hamlet.
Attend one, or both! Read or watch! We come not to judge, only to share our love of the Bard.
Print copies of this play will be available for checkout with a library card, along with several productions on DVD. Library cardholders also have streaming access to the BBC production on Kanopy – visit https://cityofportsmouth.com/library/kanopy to connect. Or, watch any of these freely available productions:
