Classical Guitar Performance with Mark and Beverly Davis

Guitar Sundays: Live Guitar Performances
at Portsmouth Public Library & Portsmouth Music and Arts Center

The popular live music series, Guitar Sundays, offered by the Portsmouth Public Library, PMAC (Portsmouth Music and Arts Center), and in association with the Boston Classical Guitar Society is back!  Produced and curated by Mitch Shuldman, these free concerts will be held at 3 PM each month, alternating between the Levenson Community Room at the Portsmouth Public Library and the Haas Family Gallery and Recital Hall at PMAC. Drawing from a rich selection of guitar talent from both New Hampshire and the greater Boston area, the series of recitals will highlight the versatility and range of the guitar from classical to jazz to acoustic.

Mark and Beverly Davis, Classical Guitar Duo

Mark and Beverly Davis have performed together as a duo since 2001.  Their many international tours have taken them to the Festival Internacional de Plectro La Rioja (2016, 2018), New York International Mandolin Festival (2016), Eurofestival Zupfmusik (Germany 2010, 2014), Festival Mandolines de Lunel (France 2010), Festival Cuidad de Cristal (Spain), and the Sydney FAME Festival (Australia 2007, 2012). At their home in Connecticut, the duo presents the North Meadow House Concert Series.

“We believe in the transformative power of music; that it has the power to take you out of yourself, and maybe make the world a better place, ... what we try to do in our concerts...is try to make that music a safe space where the music will come and surround you and envelop you in that space where there are just notes, and you can forget about everything else...and just be right in that little space."

Registration is not required. This concert will be held at the Portsmouth Public Library located at 175 Parrott Ave., Portsmouth.
