Kevin Martin, a 4th Generation NH native and outdoorsman is the author of the book Big Trees of Northern New England. Join us as Kevin shares information about the history, management, and caretaking of New England's Big Trees.

His book documents 166 of the largest and most accessible trees on public lands or in cities in Northern New England. He will share images and stories of these impressive living parts of our landscape, and discuss trips to old-growth pine or hemlock forests. He will tell us about Portsmouth's big trees and their history, including a horse chestnut planted by a signer of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.  Northern NE has several national champion Big Trees and some will be shown.

Copies of Big Trees of Northern NE will be available for sale from the author after the presentation. The book directs you on 66 trips to find 166 of the largest trees accessible by the public.
