Program Description

Details

Join us on Wednesday, October 11, at 7 PM online for Planner Society Presents Commonplace Books.

Do you want to keep track of quotes, interesting factoids, research, book reviews, and more all in one notebook? Then keeping a commonplace book may be right for you. Commonplace books are notebooks that hold everything that you may want to reference later all in one common place. You may have heard of The Commonplace Book in literary history as many authors such as Aldous Huxley, E.M. Forster, Thomas Hardy used one. Famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes uses a commonplace book to investigate a crime in the tale “The Adventure of the Veiled Lodger.” In this workshop, you will be setting up your own commonplace book for all your thoughts, memories, or whatever else you desire.

Journals and materials will be provided and will be available to pick up at the library a week before the event.

Registration is required to reserve a space and to receive a Commonplace Journal Kit.
