Barely a day goes by in the news without a story describing how a cold case was solved using DNA evidence. Serial killers and human remains have been identified through this innovative technology, and these cases are often what spring to mind when people think of forensic genealogy. While DNA analysis is an exciting and game-changing addition to the investigative arsenal, forensic genealogy encompasses a surprisingly broad scope of practice. Join Certified Genealogist® Angela Harris as she pulls back the curtain on this little-known yet fascinating field.

Registration is not required.

About the Presenter
The grandchild of Italian immigrants, Angela Harris grew up pestering her elders for stories about the Old Country. Raised in a town steeped in history and surrounded by friends and neighbors who still bore the surnames of their Pilgrim forefathers, it was no surprise to anyone that genealogy became Angela’s passion and, ultimately, her profession.

Angela specializes in forensic genealogy and has earned the Certified Genealogist® credential from the Board for Certification of Genealogists®. She has worked on probate, Italian dual-citizenship, genetic genealogy, and family history cases from New England, Canada, and the midwestern United States. Angela holds membership in several genealogical and historical societies and is the Secretary for the New England Chapter of the Association for Professional Genealogists. She can be reached at www.namesake genealogy.com.
