hygge  /ˈho͞oɡə,ˈho͝oɡə/ noun: a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).

When it's colder and darker out, all plenty of us want to do is curl up with a good book or soothing activity and get cozy. Why fight it? Take a break from your stresses and drop in for some hygge at the library!

We'll have a space with cozy areas to read, journal, craft or play quiet games, plus warm drinks and sweet snacks. Have a hygge lunch break to reset your day! Drop in for the afternoon for some soothing activities away from the responsibilities and chores of your home. Stop by after work or dinner to unwind and get some hygge spirit to take home with you.

We'll bring some coziness on our end, but feel free to bring your own pillows, blankets, or even come in your OK-for-public-viewing PJ's! We will have a jigsaw puzzle and quiet board games, coloring and craft supplies, and a crackling fire on the big screen. You can bring your own projects, books, or headphones, or grab something to read once you're here! (this *IS* a library after all!)

This is an all-ages event, so kids and families are welcome, but please remember it's intended to be a relaxing and calm space, so more active play will be welcomed in the Children's Room, including in our awesome play space!

Registration is not required. This is a drop-in event. All are welcome!
